About this deal

They play a little louder than the original Frames and the bass response is better, so music sounds a little fuller and richer.

It’s unlikely you’ll ever be listening to music for four hours straight with these, but it’s conceivable that you would listen that much over a full day, and you then don’t have an easy way to charge them back up without the specialist cable. This rating varies among chargers – including those supplied with different models of Bose products. All in all, the battery life on the Bose Frames is okay if you’re set to listen for short stints of time, but if you’re planning to use these over a period of a whole day you may need to take your cable out with you to ensure they’re charged up.

We found them to be comfortable to wear in direct sunlight, and they seemed to do the basic job of shielding our eyes from rays. They’re both IPX2 water-resistance rated which, for a product meant for outdoor use, is lower than we’d like. You’re not isolated from your surroundings, ensuring you’re constantly aware in a busy urban landscape and attentive to traffic and fellow humans. The one thing they’re missing is volume control, so you’ll be reaching for your phone for that, which is a shame. While the arms are slightly bulky, the sunglasses don't feel heavy on your head and are comfortable to wear. And yet, while the Frames are just an early offering that may (or may not) help kick-start a new genre, they’re also kind of magical.
