About this deal

I enjoyed the beach setting much more than I thought I would, as I personally don’t like going to the beach, so I wasn’t expecting to enjoy reading about it. I’m very fortunate that I’ve got some first class creative folks in my personal and professional life that I can bounce ideas off of.

Hundreds of years of experience of fishing with stick floats packed into this book, including many tales from the golden age of match fishing on England's waterways. This is pretty much vital information, since any children looking at the book with you will almost certainly request their own paper boat so they can play their own games. this book was very much targeted towards teens and not in an overly immature way, but more so a relatable way.Waverly Lyons has been caught in the middle of her parents’ divorce for as long as she can remember.

Daniel Miyares: Float actually started as a single drawing of a boy floating a paper boat in a puddle on a rainy day. It took us less than a week to read this aloud as a family because we had a hard time putting it down every night. This story was the perfect mix of the type of butterflies-in-your-stomach romance, chuckling humor, and overall sweetness that you crave when the days get longer and hotter. The fact that I ended up loving the beach town atmosphere in this book was definitely a surprise for me.

While each chapter offers a separate story, they are linked together by their fascinating relevance to our daily lives.

I had a couple of issues where Waverly’s character and with the pacing of the book, but beyond those it is a completely adorable beach read that I completely recommend to anybody looking for a fluffy YA romance. The secondary characters here were incredible, I loved Jesse and Lena and their twin relationship, it was hilarious to read but I need Lena to find love, too! The page turns pull you along, as does the well-placed and not overused panels, and especially the long and narrow format. Float, with all of it's nostalgic summer camp fun, would be a perfect antidote to a dreary winter day. By the end, Waverly experiences first love and friendship, but like summer itself, all good things must come to an end.

Float Level is open every day except Tuesdays from 10:00 until 21:00 (last float 19:00) and can be found just a short walk from Piccadilly Train Station in the Chips Building off Old Mill Street. This is one of those rare books that I actually got to spy on the shelves before I had heard any buzz about it.

I was also genuinely interested in the relationship between Blake and his stepmother, Chloe; both are doing their best but not really getting through to each other, and I just really love that subplot. i absolutely adore their dynamic and their individual comments made me laugh much harder than i was expecting. The topics explored in each chapter are based on hundreds of discussions the author has led with adult science learners over many years – people who came from all walks of life and had no scientific training, but had developed a burning curiosity to understand the world around them. Read, scroll, or watch - there's an experience for everyone to dive into Waverly and Blake's journey. David Pike is a renowned author who served in the London Fire Brigade and is a keen supporter of Massey Shaw.Gr 9 Up—Marchant's debut centers on 17-year-old Waverly (described as white), who has traveled from Alaska to stay at her Aunt Rachel's (described as white) house in a small coastal town in Florida for the summer. I won’t say too much, but I just wanted to point out that I love where her story was taken in this book. I’ll be reviewing books, sharing tips, and hopefully convincing the world of the loveliness of picture books. Why Icebergs Float] draws on experiences and first-person narratives of adult learners who – out of genuine curiosity or embarrassment at their levels of scientific ignorance – have sought to catch-up on lost school science and get a better understanding of their surroundings as a result.
