About this deal

By contrast; the Charlotte Tilbury primer has much more subtle luminosity and comes in 7 shades to look natural and like your actual skin tone.

With that being said, the Physician’s Formula primer lasts well under my foundation for a full day without breaking down strangely; it just doesn’t look quite as glowy at the end of the day.Other than having a good safety profile and being quite gentle to the skin it has some other advantages too. At first it still looked matte but after about 15 minutes, it looked like I had been drinking 8 glasses of water a day. A super common fragrance ingredient found naturally in many plants including citrus peel oils, rosemary or lavender.

A super common fragrance ingredient that can be found among others in lavender, ylang-ylang, bergamot or jasmine. I would’ve thought if your primer had that much radiance to it that you’d have to stick with a sheer coverage foundation, but this really does shine through whatever you put over it. One of my main complains of all Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfectors was that the pumped pushed out way too much product but this pump actually allows you to control the amount of product you want, so there’s no wastage, which is fine with me because this primer is ssssssspensive!

I hope that you enjoyed my review, and appreciate those of you who took time out of your day to read my post. In cosmetics, it’s often in products that are supposed to keep your skin matte as it has great oil-absorbing abilities. It does smell nice but the problem is that it oxidizes on air exposure and the resulting stuff is not good for the skin. It can be a replacement for mineral oil and is often combined with other emollients to achieve different sensorial properties. I really love both the First Light and Backlight by Becca, but with them going out of business, does anyone know of similar primers?

It’s a shame that Becca is no longer a brand as they offered some beautiful products including this which was one of the first popular priming products that offered a beautiful radiant glow. It’s often used together with ethylhexylglycerin as it nicely improves the preservative activity of phenoxyethanol. I did set my foundation with a light dusting of the MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural (MSFN) and went in with powder blusher, bronzer and highlight. It didn’t control oil by any means (I was still reaching for the blotting papers at the 4-hour mark, as I usually do), but it kept my makeup on despite the oil. A gorgeous primer that I wear everyday with or without foundation (mostly without) because it gives my slightly mature skin a lovely polished surface.Let’s talk about two Becca primers: the Becca Backlight Priming Filter and the Becca First Light Priming Filter.

I feel like the Becca primer does have longer lasting power, as my skin looked dewier with the Becca primer after 12 hours of wear. Super common little helper ingredient that helps products to remain nice and stable for a longer time. What it does do, however, is give a veil of mild luminosity which is nice on bare skin as a glow amplifier that doesn’t make you look radioactive.Blended together, they impart a one-of-a-kind, lightweight, whipped fluid that creates a smooth canvas and acts as an instant filter, while the vitamin E-enriched formula minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
