In common with my previous volume, The Parisian Gentleman, this book does not claim to be a complete catalogue of all the Italian brands specializing in tailoring and shoemaking. Ten books would not be enough for that. Neither do I attempt to give a precise and academic historical account of tailoring in Italy, its roots and its character.
