This not only makes it easier to empty than the V6 but also makes it a breeze to remove hairs that might have become tangled inside. The battery indicator is a single light on one side of the V7’s handle (as opposed to the three-bar light found on the V8). Also on the main unit is the slider to switch suction modes – while it’s located right in front of the handheld unit, you will need your other hand to swap modes if you’re doing so in the middle of a clean. Sand was not a problem on hard floors. But when it came to coarse dirt like lentils and oat flakes, the V7 definitely had a harder time. The coarse dirt was only pushed around in front of the roller and some of it was even skidded around.

The Dyson V7 comes with two suction levels. The low level is usually sufficient for removing normal dirt. When it gets down to the nitty gritty, only the turbo mode can make it happen.
