About this deal

We recommend waiting a minimum of 30 days for the paint to cure fully prior to installing vinyl graphics. How long will my boat name last? Your first step to applying your vinyl boat lettering and numbers would be to clean the surface. You can use soap and water for this or you can use an alcohol-based cleaner that will help rid your surface of anything that might prevent good adhesion. You can have dropped shadows in vinyl too, in any font style & almost any colour. In the end I only ever did vinyl lettering on anything, no point in painting any more, and when done badly they look awful and ruin the finish of any boat, as it will be the first thing you will see every time you look at it. It is also ideal to apply your custom vinyl when it is not too hot or cold. A temperature between 45 degrees and 90 degrees works great for application.

Freshly lacquered or painted surfaces should be allowed to dry for at least three weeks and to completely cure respectively Personally I would not entertain painting a name on a boat, with or without stensils. I have done a bit of amateur sign writing in the past, but it is not easy, and a boat moves about whilst you are doing it, which is not helpful.Apply the paint to the stencil using either a proper stencil brush or dense foam gloss style roller. Paint or roll in from the edges of the stencil - remember to roll or wipe off all excess paint from your brush/roller before painting to avoid paint bleed! Dave Moore of this parish, very good and not over expensive. The only problem is he is based in the West Midlands, and I am not sure how far he will travel.

Nightwatch has painted names. This was done prior to our ownership about 14-15 years ago. As we are very 'houseproud' we have washed the boat a number of times and even polished the boat at least four times during this tenure. The signwriting is starting to wear through, not dramatically, but if you look carefully the evidence is there. The American Boating Association gives you some great pointers for removing old lettering from your boat. It is recommended to use a scraping and soapy water method because it is typically safe for a variety of surfaces. First, get a scratch-free plastic scraper. You should be able to get this at your local paint store. You will also need a solution consisting of 1 cup of soap and 5-10 drops of dish liquid. Palmolive is the brand they used. The solution works as a lubricant to protect from scratching your boat and also prevents the adhesive from rebonding. I think you have to have the confidence to have the correct amount of print on the brush and use a single stroke. Having a line to follow is no different to chalking it up first so I'm not sure it would make it any easier. Our Vinyl Boat Lettering / Cut vinyl graphics are supplied in Premium Grade 7 Year vinyl. We do not use Monomeric or other Low-Grade vinyls. Other factors that affect lifespan are UV exposure and the quality of the installation, cleaning the area of all wax and contaminents prior to fitting is crucial. Do I get instructions on how to fit my vinyl boat name? Once complete, you can remove the top layer of paper and masking tape. Your DIY application will look professionally applied. You can use this application process for any boat lettering and graphic.
