Dyson's V11 is another gem of a device from the world's most advanced vacuum designer. With its cordless design, automated head adjustment system, excellent battery life, and range of attachments, it really does brush off the opposition, wiping the floor – so to speak – with almost every other brand. We also tested the vacuum cleaner in our (family) everyday life. Besides the long battery life, the suction power caught our attention as well.

To activate the battery-powered vacuum, you have to press and hold the trigger, just like with all previous models. This is often criticized, but it’s just a matter of getting used to it. It mainly serves to extend the battery's runtime. After we’ve thrown all possible challenges at the Dyson V11, we can tell you: Yes, it’s worth buying! Using a decibel meter that was set three feet away from the cordless vacuum cleaner, we tested the volume of it while running. The point and shoot mechanism hygienically ejects dust and debris deep into your bin, in one action – so theres no need to touch the dirt. However, a HEPA filter system that catches particles as small as 0.03 microns is nothing without a sealed system.

The weight of 3.05 kg (6.7 lbs) is not a problem while vacuuming the floor, because the vacuum cleaner lies on the floor with the roller so the weight is well distributed. Depending on what you want to vacuum first, you choose a suitable attachment. The assembly of the suction attachments is super easy with a simple movement.

Weighing in at 3.3kg with the wand and soft roller cleaner attached, the Dyson V11 Absolute feels light in use, despite weighing a little more than the V10 models – the position of the battery means the cleaner feels perfectly balanced when you’re using it, and the extra weight is barely noticeable. The V11 moves around easily on both carpets and hard floors, whether you're using the High Torque cleaner head or the soft roller cleaner head, and the articulated design of the heads makes cleaning under furniture a breeze. This vacuum's suction force has been retested with a more accurate manometer. The test results for the 'Maximum Suction' and 'Normal Suction' fields have been updated. All relevant scores and text have been updated. In most technical respects, the V11 Animal and Absolute models are superior to the Dyson V10, which arrived in March 2018. Things move fast at Dyson, and almost everything has been enhanced for the new models, from battery capacity to filter cleaning, and sheer suction power. That's especially noticeable with the ECO setting, which manages to deliver strong suction and relatively low noise levels. You won't get that with the V10. This tech also creates what is known as fade-free suction power. This is where the power and suction of the machine do not lessen as the bin fills up or the cord free vacuum runs low on charge, which means low power. They both use HEPA filter, something which can be found on pretty much every Dyson vacuum cleaner except for the V7 range.Each of the included attachments and gadgets has its own function and qualification.
