In this one, we get to see what brought them together, how they're actually the first of the family to become mates, and everything that has happened between the two up to Clutch. Sebastian's world came crashing down when his sister and her husband died in a fatal car accident. Now he is raising his 3 year old niece which he knows nothing about taking care of kids. He's a work-aholic who never saw himself as a family man but he knew his sister would want Emme (his niece) to be with him. So, he does what every other work-aholic does and get a nanny. Now remember how i said there was plot but i don’t think it was the main focus? Here are my issues with it:

Moreover, she needs the cash to fix up the brownstone property that she had inherited from her grandmother. It is not long before she has feelings for both brothers who could not be more unlike. Gavin is an aloof man that prefers to keep his distance which makes him mysterious and irresistible. On the other hand, Cooper is a fun-loving and sweet guy that she knows she should want. Things get more complicated when both brothers fall for her.

The long awaited beginning of the end, where we get to meet the elusive brother who have just popped up in the series here and there. And the unintended mate which started shifting everything, long before our darling Harrison came along. There are some sweet moments in this book, Sorin and Bertram truly fall in love and Sorin learns he can trust one dragon (besides his children), but there are hard decisions and sacrifices made as well and a lot of time spent without each other. But throughout all this there is love. Once again I am completely obsessed with the possessive and obsessive men that Mila writes! They are just over the top in every way possible and I LOVE IT!

Sorry...I can't say much but I will say...I loved this story! The characters. The storyline. The wardrobe. The heat. The twists. Everything. The way Emma wanted an adventure and more. The way Gavin shows her who he is. The way Cooper treats her. It's all makes up a story full of sin, mystery, love, and passion. There is so much emotion between the two - unease, unsure trust, to love and then the emotional fall out when decisions have to be made. I adore Sorin, my heart breaks for him and I love his courage and strength. And I love that he really brings out all the good to Bertram, and ultimately makes Bertram into a better man. I wasn't sure what to expect of Sorin, we've gotten glimpses of him in other books in the series and he's always been so mysterious and dare I say, weird? After reading Raven, my heart breaks for him, for everything he had to endure before meeting Bertram, for everything he is still enduring after since he still has no answers. And Bertram, I think he's my favorite Drake, he's so devoted, so loving, so willing to do whatever he needs to do to help Sorin even against his own family. It’s a prequel to all we’ve subsequently read in the Forbidden Desires series and its spin-off and do we finally get the behind the scenes insights into just what Bertram Drake has been up to on behalf of the Dragon Council and the Amethyst Clan.
