The way Dilly explains things is so comforting to listen too she is honest and gives the best advice. The advice in this book is awful- I can't stand it when books which are talking about decluttering suddenly start recommending homemade room sprays and dimmer switches. My job is to go into people’s houses, ofices and workspaces and help them create structure so they become more organized. The day afterwards I cleared out my wardrobe - a task I’ve been putting off since moving in four years ago!But imagine if every single item in your home were laid out before you, so you could decide what to keep and what to lose. When you stop allowing your life to revolve around things that don't matter, you instantly gain energy to focus on the things that do. The second was, I think, American and the best advice it offered, which was really handy, was that, unless the item could be sold on, I'd spent the money, and if I didn't like or use the item, I should donate or bin it. The average family home contains thousands of items that are not really needed, and living in all the clutter is making us miserable.

I was in a very fortunate position to be able to tap in and have my choice of the multiple resources out there as a ‘go to’ in my declutter journey. Read the book or listen to the audio version as you wash the dishes and I guarantee you will become inspired even if you have no plans to book the personal service. Reclaim your space, your time, and your mind right now, to reorganise your living space into a place of sanctuary. I was hoping for something a little more concrete than 'have a vision for your bedroom and do not stop until you get there'. They are pointless (I've already bought the book, it's not like I'm going to book the in-person service) and very, very irritating.in my opinion Dilly and her team are leaps and bounds ahead of the many other services that are currently available in the Declutter your home/free up your space etc etc trend which seems to be now saturated and difficult to pin down which service is right for you!

I started off with the lovely Japanese lady and realised that thanking my socks was a step too far, although some of her ideas were very useful. The reason I wanted a Kindle version is because I found this a much better way to avoid book clutter and be better for the environment (and trust me I absolutely adore hardcopy books so this was a huge step for me in the first place).When her mum was diagnosed with Bi-polar, Dilly realised that decluttering your living space helped to have a clear mind.
