About this deal

In the end, Kyla's finally know that her true birth mother is the daughter of the prime minister. She was dead for being a member of the current government refused unrest.

Maybe 3.5 for this one… This book held my interest and had some tense, terrifying moments and some fascinating pieces to the whole puzzle of Kyla. BUT, I really hated how the romance was handled and I thought Kyla’s story got more and more convoluted and confusing as the story progressed, and the coincidences became REALLY ridiculous :(Das Buch ist aus der Ich-Perspektive geschrieben und zwar aus Sicht von der Protagonistin Kyla Davis.

Kept at a minimum, the romance is not worth going into details in this review. It's there, but it's a very minimal part of the story. I can't say I developed a high interest in this sub-plot, but it wasn't an aspect that I would deem negative, either. Though this may change if Terry decides to make the romance a bigger aspect of the sequel. Levo – A bracelet worn by Slateds to control their emotions. If they get too sad, or too angry their bodies start to shut down as their Levo’s alert the hospital and government. So there's like a love triangle now, with Aiden and Ben. WHAT?????? I have no idea why Kyla/Rain/Riley still likes him. Like seriously. In the first book, their romance was just cute, in the second book, they only had like one scene together, and she still held onto hope, and in the final book, she only meets him at the end and she's all over him again, and even when he betrays her, she still ends up choosing him, the starcrossed lover, instead of the super awesome guy, Aiden, who loves her and cares for her. Actually really cares for her, unlike Ben who runs off at the end. Okay, maybe she does actually end up with Aiden at the end, since they hug and Ben is gone, but I thought that it was a total butthole thing to do to just drive away one day. Likes seriously.

Kyla is still wound up about what happened to Ben, and although I felt sorry for her I wasn't actually too bothered about Ben. Why? Because I wasn't emotionally invested in the romance between Ben and Kyla in book one. It was dull and so was Ben to be honest. For this reason, as harsh as it may sound to some, I didn't really care much about what happened to him.

Kyla and another slated girl, Amy, are allowed to leave the hospital and are placed with a new family. Kyla’s first impression is that her new mother, Sandra, is cold and difficult, while her new father David is warm and friendly. Kyla worries about Sandra’s attitude towards Kyla’s supposed terrorist past, since Sandra’s parents were killed by terrorists. There were so many moments where I found myself feeling like I was Kyla, desperate to understand the hold that the government had on the world. People are disappearing. People are scared of the authorities, and best of all, I think people in this book are scared of their own power to make a difference. It was scary, because it felt so real. And it very well could become real. That's the best kind of fiction. One last thing, which I've read in almost all YA books of late that I've almost completely took it for granted - is your typical girl-on-girl hate. Ein gelungener Abschluss der Trilogie, der noch besser war als die Bücher vorher, daher bekommt das Buch von mir verdiente
