This edition of UNO Extreme features an updated card launcher with a sleek design that shoots cards high in the air. Each player must play a card of the same color, number, or symbol as the one on the face of the discard pile (or play an appropriate Action Card). The activating player adds the Launched cards to his/her hand, and play begins with the next player to his/her left. As soon as a player manages to get rid of all their cards, the round is over, and the winning player gets given a score to add to their overall total.

The first player has to match a card in the Discard pile, either by color or number or symbol (Action card). However, the game may be scored by keeping a running total of the points each player is caught with at the end of each hand.
