About this deal

The top boost amps do sound great and the new models of the A/C 30 don't sound like those old ones so if you have one hold onto it. Perhaps the greatest feature of this pedal is the fact that it has inbuilt cabinet emulation meaning you can go from the pedal directly to a mixing desk, a DAW or directly to your computer/laptop with a jack to usb lead.

Commenting on ones experiences of the ACTone pedal and telling it like it is, is not being negative. I know a lot of guys used the Tech21 and Joyo pedals in front of their amps, but I find they lose some clarity in a way I can't easily compensate for when I run though a real amp. It consists of Tone, Volume, and Drive knobs that let you adjust the output volume, dial in the gain, and get the perfect tonal balance. The Gain knob controls the level of overdrive while the mid-sensitive Tone knob improves signal clarity and tonal responsiveness to help your true tone shine through despite the amount of overdrive dirt you layer onto it.

Despite the "True Bypass" label next to the 3PDT footswitch, there is a (presumably JFET source follower) bypass buffer. ammoon’s Mini Guitar Effect Pedal (Obsessiver Overdrive) comes in a small, durable zinc-aluminium alloy body. Featuring endless controls, bypass wiring and components of only the highest quality, the pedal can put in more than a hard day's work.

This is a 2nd hand item and may not come with all originally included items and original accessories or software. According to a quick Spice simulation, I suppose that the Joyo American Sound has slightly more treble than the Tech21 Blonde (can easily be compensated with the Treble pot), and it's Mid and Voice controls are set more in the lo-mids range. It's not true-bypass, but you don't care because the opamp before drives your signal with an appropriately low impedance. I believe I read the AC Tone has different op amp chips to the Tech 21 Liverpool, and that it was suggested they were the cause of the additional noise compared with the Liverpool.

It's working like a preamp so going into a normal guitar amp is surely going to be detrimental to the tone, unless you are able to set the tone on the amp absolutely flat? It's a more limited canvas, though the fact you can drive it almost like you would a real amp, and it responds in kind, that makes it easily the better choice. But bear in mind that old cards were made with non-RoHS, lead-based solder which is a bit easier to work with (lower melting temperature). Details: Based on the AC-30 tube amplifier that, with a little help from two mop-top multi-instrumentalists, revolutionized the electric guitar sound, the Joyo AC Tone pedal really rocks our age. Because all other users ( who arn't born yesterday regarding our ecuipment)have no problem with there Actone's.This pedal can crate a range of sounds due to the in built EQ which allows you to control the Mid, High and Low ranges. isn't going to stop much in the way of pops, plus it looks like it is just connecting the bypass portion of the switching. By the time it goes through the main board and back to my in ear monitors, I can't tell the difference between that and my mic'd up 18-watt tube amp. Re: Using a DI -- I had never thought of that as a tone shaper; only used it as intended to feed a balanced signal to a board. Edit: I did throw away my 1980ish Ovation Matrix after it served as a guitar for 15+ years and another 20 as a flower planter in my yard - but it did not have electronics. But the amplitude would never reach the theoretical maximum, because of clipping in the following gain stage. They say if you want to use them into PA's and recording software interfaces etc you would be best using a cabinet simulator pedal to get best results. The dang thing sounds like a Vox, and has all the great chime and breakup you'd want out of an AC-amp. Compared to the Joyo amp-in-a-box pedals a POD sacrifices a tiny bit of of the Joyo's sound quality (maybe - depends on your taste) and most of its simplicity for a huge amount of flexibility. While the Joyo is a good pedal, one easy way to improve it is to run the output into an active DI, then whatever stage snake/amp/mixer you're using.
