About this deal

I read this later in life, but throughout the entirety it felt very young adult and less mature than some of the content I prefer. The first two books are staged mostly in the kingdom of Adarlan, and then the remaining five books take us all over the “world” created by Maas as Celaena works to accept her destiny, and the part she has to play in the conflict.

Violence, on the other hand, is frequent and bloody, with gory weapons, hacking, slashing, poisoning, treachery, flashbacks to mass killings and murdered parents.

Many 6th graders would be fine with this book- I am a parent and media specialist and think the majority of 6th graders would be able to handle the mild swearing and mention of violence. The book's moral universe, centered on a murderous king and a teen assassin who's forced to do his bidding, is pretty violent and murky.

We ask all users help us create a welcoming environment by reporting posts/comments that do not follow the subreddit rules. Families can talk about stories like Throne of Glass and the premise that sometimes none of your choices are good, but you have to choose anyway. For example, I read scenes of murderers or some sex scenes but not so explicit at 13 and I took it quite well since I was always a mature person. Chances are, if you're questioning if your teenager can handle sexual content - you're too late anyway due to what they've undoubtedly already consumed.

Surrounded by beauty and kindness in A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES, Feyre soon begins to fall in love with Tamlin -- and to learn more about the terrible curse that hangs over him and his people. Throne of Glass finds its teen and twenty-something characters uneasily building trust and falling in love, even as palace intrigue and their own experience make betrayal a likely outcome. Gory combat, hacking and slashing, weapons, poisonings, ambush, and a guard who agonizes because he had to kill a villain to save his charge.

Parents need to know that Throne of Glass is the first book in the same-named best-selling fantasy series by Sarah J. Nineteen-year-old Feyre, the youngest child in a merchant family that's lost all its money, keeps her father and sisters alive by hunting in the woods, but one day in the dead of winter, when they're all about to starve, she kills a huge wolf.Ok I think I read half of this book when I was 13 years old, and anyway I know more or less what the book and these kinds of books are like, and I think it depends a lot on the child and his maturity. I know it sounds weird but many of the romantic scenes from the fifth book up may scare sheltered children. Other books like that that dont have sex in the first book at least are the cruel prince ( if your kid is allowed to read murder very brutal murder). But if you are a parent reviewing a series for your child who is younger, this might not be the series for you if you are wanting to keep your child from reading books that contain descriptions of adult activities. Also lots of talk about harlots, prostitutes, and lovers, a lead character is known as a ladies' man, and lots of flirting.
