About this deal

From the husband-and-wife team behind social media phenomenon @ADHD_Love, whose viral videos have been viewed more than 200 million times, comes a fearless, often outrageously funny, account of life, learning, and growing with ADHD. They share the strategies they have used to reduce shame, improve communication, and find happiness in their neurodivergent household. Extraordinary! Disha so cleverly weaves the narratives of these three neighbours and frenemies! Absolutely compelling, original and intriguing. Domestic noir at its very finest’ Liz Nugent, bestselling author of Our Little Cruelties

We also have Lauren who appears to have no friends (and again, despite her living in the same village it is not clear exactly why nobody likes her). Lauren is a target for Ciara's taunts so she's a prime suspect. If I'd have one criticism (and I do) is that the book (and the social media) are from the perspective of helping the ND partner function in society and how much the NT partner is doing, how aware they are, how patient, loving and understanding. And although that is cool to see, would have loved to see more vulnerability on Rich's side and maybe more ways in which being in this relationship improved HIS life and what Rox is teaching him. The way is depicted now comes across as a bit unilateral. There is ONE chapter in the book where Rich says being with Rox taught him to sometimes enjoy spending money and indulge in little things. Extraordinary! Absolutely compelling, original and intriguing. Domestic noir at its very finest' Liz Nugent, Unraveling OliverParth had prescribed Ciara some illicit sleeping pills, which she took too many of along with some wine for a druggy night in. The big reveal with Parth was that he had a foot fetish and that one of his college students was sending him hundreds of pictures of her feet. Mishta found out by finally looking through Parth’s phone. She assumed they were Ciara’s feet. Ciara has it all – a loving husband, well-behaved children and an immaculate home. But behind the filters, her reality is far from what it seems.

I’m conflicted about this book! Usually, I feel pretty strongly one way or another, but this book is a bit different. The first 75-80% is about three women in a small Irish town: This was entertaining, an easy read. It doesn’t really cover any new ground but I truly wanted to see how it would play out. I thought the ending worked well.

Stop believing you are fundamentally broken, - Stop judging yourself by the standards of a neurotypical world, - Communicate your struggles to those who love you, - Support someone with ADHD in ways that work for them, - Be compassionate rather than judgemental, - And much more.
