The subject itself is very complicated which is why I took a long time to comprehend it even though I’m a biology student. Highly recommend if you are a visual learner and are looking to get a brief yet detailed overview of all things brain!As ever with the New Scientist books, this is a great introduction to a topic — and in this case, it’s a fairly narrow topic: the brain, and how it works. Each chapter begins by describing some phenomenology of a particular area of neuroscience, then guides readers step-by-step through an experiment, and concludes with a series of open-ended questions to inspire further investigation. The Brain: The Story of You by David Eagleman – This is not the most detailed book about the brain out there, but it did become a bestseller for a reason. Maker Mind is a weekly newsletter with science-based insights on creativity, mindful productivity, better thinking and lifelong learning. Reads more like a HS textbook from the 1990s with a lot of over generalizations/ stereotypes than an up to date overview of what is currently known.
