About this deal

Seriously, these sensor brushes are the best way to clean your sensor. If you’re just cleaning up dust and dirt that won’t come off with the air blaster, the sensor brush is unbeatable. Moving onto autofocus, the X-T5 unsurprisingly inherits the same system of the X-H2, and as far as I could tell, the same performance too. As such one of the highlights is subject detection for animals, birds and a variety of vehicles, although like the X-H models, this is separate to the existing human face and eye menu making it feel a little bolted-on. All subject types should really be on the same menu like other systems.

But for RAW the X-T5 is much more limited than the X-H2. I managed to capture just 20 uncompressed RAW files before the camera slowed, which represents less than a second and a half of action, and once I stopped shooting, I was waiting about ten seconds for the buffer to clear. Moment Cinebloom diffusion filters are a type of mist filter used in photography and videography. These filters are uncoated and are designed to introduce extra reflections, adding to the overall glow of a scene. They are favored for their ability to impart a cinematic quality to footage and are compatible with brass filter threads. The resolution of the screen has also been increased slightly from 1.62M-dots to 1.84M-dots, making it the highest-res screen of any current Fujifilm APS-C camera. Memory Cards The X-T4 was something of a speed demon when it was released in 2020, so much so that it actually still out-performs the new X-T5.

Both models have the same very good 3.68M-dot OLED electronic viewfinder, 100fps refresh rate and a built-in eye sensor, but the EVF on the XT5 offers slightly higher magnification (0.80x vs 0.75x). While classically inspired, Fujifilm’s XT series arguably has more in common with other modern mirrorless bodies. The viewfinder and flipping LCD screen, not to mention the menu navigation buttons, are all similar to the likes of Sony, Nikon, and Canon. But, the Fujifilm XT5 sits halfway between the modern and the classic with the labeled top dials for shutter speed and ISO, not to mention the silver color option. I switched from a DSLR to the XT4 more than a year ago. While initially hesitant about the transition, I now can’t imagine a life without those top dials and an aperture ring around a metal lens. In my tests I occasionally found banding on some panoramas with constant flat colours like a clear blue sky, but this can sometimes be alleviated by manually fixing the aperture, shutter and ISO values,

And finally there is of course built-in wifi and Bluetooth which works well with the current app for embedding location details from your phone, although I still have variable success when it comes to wirelessly copying images onto my phone. Sometimes it works perfectly, but at others it can take ages to carry out if at all. Fuji mixes up control schemes among cameras, not just body styles. The X-T5 takes a dial-driven approach, with discrete control wheels for shutter speed, EV, drive speed, and ISO on its top plate. Add on-lens aperture control and you've got a system camera that allows for manual control when you want it. If you prefer to let the camera make a decision it's easy enough to set the dials to A for automatic position. RAW files are available in uncompressed, lossless compressed or lossy compressed formats, and you can also choose whether to record standard images in JPEG or HEIF formats. The XT4 and XT5 have a few more dials. That and the more traditional viewfinder and screen design make the camera ideal for fast adjustments. I also prefer the larger grip, and, as a newer model, there are more options, including faster burst modes and, on the XT5, animal detection autofocus. The XT4 is the camera that I chose as a wedding and portrait photographer, and trying out the X Pro 3 hasn’t changed my mind. I still prefer the SLR style for portraits and weddings. Both cameras can also be powered and charged via a USB-C connection, which is useful if you're out and about and have a compatible power-bank to plug the camera into. Vertical Battery Grip The X-T5 comes with 19 Film Simulation modes, including “Nostalgic Neg.,” characterised by its high saturation and soft tonality.

As a wedding photographer shooting with an XT4 on each hip, I was eager to get my hands on the XT5. It keeps the classical look of the XT series, yet adds the 40-megapixel sensor of H2, as well as its processor and scene recognition autofocus. The XH2 takes some great photos, but there’s something about the dedicated ISO and shutter dial on the XT series. The XT5 mixes that sensor with classic ergonomics.
