About this deal

A female nearby to the patient does her best to help with the situation too and this is how the couple meet. Set in three of my favorite cities, London, Paris and New York provide a scenic backdrop to the characters' complicated stories. A successful art consultant arrives at the hotel for the first time since her brutal divorce, and is surprised to find new love—if she is willing to risk her heart again. These 5 guests and the Hotels new manager Olivier Bateau and his new assistant Yvonne Philippe after an eventful first night after the grand reopening of the Hotel Louis XVI. Life is full of complications, and for some of the guests and staff of the Louis XVI, one of Paris’s most famous luxury hotels, it was a year they’d never forget.

During a time where our world has shrunk to our neighborhoods, remaining positive and refusing to give in, helps sustain our dreams. But they quickly realize that anything can happen at any moment, and on one cool September evening, everything does. He had no children, and had worked at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc for two years at the front desk, and then at the Ritz, where he had done well but had not been considered exceptional. I’m not a huge fan of the fast forward style that Danielle Steel likes to use making the beginning of the books feel like a huge info dump but that is normally only for a chapter or two and then the books settle into a deeper story with who was introduced. The old guard didn’t care about the lack of technology, but Lavalle had recognized that adding it would assure their future.Story starts with the Grand Reopening (after 4 years of renovations) of the famous hotel Louis XVI in Paris. Especially during these COVID times, it’s great to escape into the world of jet setters and the rich and famous.

The assistant manager had retired after Lavalle’s death, unable to conceive of being the adjutant to a less extraordinary general, and had moved to a home in Spain. When a renowned Paris based hotel receives the royal treatment via a four-year renovation, the pressure is on to deliver a grand re-opening. He and his level-headed assistant manager, Yvonne Philippe, both strive to continue the hotel’s tradition of excellence. She is also the author of His Bright Light, the story of her son Nick Traina's life and death; A Gift of Hope, a memoir of her work with the homeless; and the children's books Pretty Minnie in Paris and Pretty Minnie in Hollywood.

This book took some time to get into, the author takes her time setting up the scenes and the characters before the action gets started.

Both strive to continue the hotel’s tradition for excellence but even they were not prepared for what happened on that September evening. He was shocked at the small fortune his father had amassed, and he and his children were set for life, handsomely, from the fruits of his father’s labors at the Louis XVI.The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal.
