Craig remains one of the UK's most loved performers and is at the helm of his own distinctive, authentically British sound, making him one of the most successful artists in UK chart history. Although he didn't go on an official hiatus, Craig reportedly resented the caricature of himself on Leigh Francis' TV show Bo' Selecta!, in which he was frequently parodied. In 2008, still quite early on in his career, Craig released a Greatest Hits album, full of his best known hits as well a new song 'Where's Your Love' featuring Tinchy Stryder and Rita Ora. Craig then signed another new record with Universal Motown and released sixth album 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered'. It featured covers of classics from Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye and Al Green. At the age of 14, David was MCing on a local pirate radio station as well as at nearby clubs before moving into DJing, playing mainly garage. It was while involved in this scene that he met Mark Hill of Artful Dodger, also from Southampton. David's career was boosted when he won a national song-writing competition. The prize was to co-compose the b-side of 'Wonderful Tonight', a UK number 3 hit in 1997 for R&B stars Damage. Rising interest in the vocalist led to a deal with the Telstar/Capital Radio joint venture, Wildstar Records in August 1999. His first single for them, the infectious 'Fill Me In' received substantial national radio airplay and rose to the UK's number 1 spot in April 2000. David repeated the feat in August with '7 Days', and completed a memorable year by winning three MOBO awards two months later.From physical pain, lost love, public humiliation and depression, Craig takes us past his comfort zone, in a raw, honest and courageous account of his own lived experience. Through his unique blend of R&B, garage, dance and pop, Craig has delighted his fans with live performances on stages across the world, while also becoming one of the biggest DJs on the dance scene with his TS5 sets, and his renowned pool parties in Ibiza. He has received 14 Brit Award nominations, two Grammy nominations, four MOBO awards, three Ivor Novellos honouring his songwriting and, most recently, an MBE for his services to music. A great book this, I have loved Craig David since my younger years and absolutely loved his "vibe". He just never seems to age and his music was part of my life in a big way growing up so to read this was a delight.

Craig went on to reveal that the book has been two years in-the-making, and been a labour of love. What's Your Vibe? spans the whole of Craig's career from working with Artful Dodger on 'Re-Rewind', right up to the present day. I am now in a place where I've learned to have good vibes, to be true to myself, but it hasn't always been this way. This is not a traditional memoir, and it's not a self-help book either. It's a series of lessons learned from a life lived, many of which I've only realised in retrospect - after all, it is only through living that we can learn and grow. Craig emerged in late 1999 and early 2000 on the UK soul and R&B scene. His first success was as the smooth, soulful voice on Artful Dodger's 'Re-rewind When The Crowd Say Bo Selecta' that reached number 2 in the UK Top 40 and spent a total of 13 weeks on the chart.
