About this deal

Terracotta pots and other surfaces may need a good sanding / wire-brushing as they are often treated or glazed to protect them from rain and frost damage. These treatments will reduce adhesion of the paint to the surface. Our paint can only be used on a warm day with the temperature above 10°C and make sure there’s no rain forecast. On metal make sure you wipe it down with white spirit and use a suitable metal primer - this'll make sure you get the best finish and your paint will last longer.

For best results, prime all wooden surfaces with Ronseal All Surface Primer and Undercoat - Exterior before applying Ronseal Garden Paint. Preparing Terracotta Greens, blues and creams will give your garden this country look, a great example is Elderflower on wood, Cool Breeze on metal, and Sapling Green on wood. Urban living Garden Paint gives your outdoors space a colour that lasts long, helps waterproof surfaces protecting them from the elements and is rainproof within 1 hour. Here are some of our garden ideas depending which colour palette suits you environment the best: Country garden Make sure you give it a good stir before you start. Try the colour out first on a hidden area to make sure you are happy with it.Weathered terracotta needs to be water-bead tested. If the water beads on the surface, sanding will be required to remove the surface coating before painting. If the water soaks in to the Terracotta, then the paint can be applied directly. Preparing metal If you're painting onto wood you'll need to brush in the direction of the wood grain. 3 coats will give you the best colour and protection and make sure you sand down between the second and third coat if you're painting a smooth surface. Where possible, preserve all sides including end grain prior to application of Ronseal Garden Paint Old coating type finishes such as paints, varnishes and varnish type stains must be fully removed by sanding or with a product stripper / remover prior to painting. Unfinished softwoods can be painted straight away as long as they do not have a previous wax, oil or silicone finish

Any instances of wet rot can be treated with Ronseal Wet Rot Wood Hardener, and any existing woodworm eradicated with Ronseal Woodworm Killer Make good any holes or minor imperfections with Ronseal High Performance Wood Filler or Ronseal Multi Purpose Wood Filler Add a bit of fun with a splash of colour, this a great way to use left-over paint. Why not try Purple Berry on terracotta, Pink Jasmine, Summer Sky, and Lime Zest on wood, or Slate on wood. Kids’ corner
