Having loved the series back in the day when I watched it on dvd I wanted to check out what the blu ray transfer had to offer. Perhaps the most stylised anime that has ever existed - it seems to blend sci fi, western, noir genres with one of the most stunning soundtracks of any TV show ever existed.I like westerns, animation, science fiction, so when Cowboy Bebop was released way back in the late 90’s I quickly gobbled it all up. I will go out on a special note and say that had this set been released earlier in 2014 it would have earned a top spot on my Top-10 Blu-ray list as opposed to just an honorable mention. The series also features a terrific soundtrack that blends jazz, blues, rock, classical, and other musical genres. The only issue with the Dynit release (I have it) is that they swapped out the text to Italian, just like what FUNimation does.

The show is still in it's 14:9 aspect ratio but has been cleaned up for it's stunning Blu-ray visuals. I actually obtained a copy of the FUNimation Exclusive and will be posting my thoughts on the special edition in a later review. I wasn't very tech literate last time I watched this show all the way through so never really noticed. This is a series that I would recommend to anyone, anime fan or not, since it is a masterpiece that rivals the best of what you would see on TV or in a film. While the series and the episodic contents remain the same as previous DVD releases it is the ‘High Definition’ quality that makes this release stand out (as showcased in our comparison article).

Ein's Summer Vacation (1080p; 1:01) is an amusing short featuring the show's lovable doggie, done in still comic strip style. The Series is only 26 Episodes but it takes you on a ride from start to finish; as each episode has something you can take away from. No matter, I did want to grab this series for a long while and you'll never know when Netflix will delist the series.
