Zima is a rather uncommon Polish and Russian surname that means "winter", referencing her white color palette that looks like snow. Shadow High is known to be Rainbow High's rival school. Shadow High grew jealous of them as they would always win and manipulate results but they also claim that Rainbow High badly wants to be "them." Ash seems to talk and hang out with Nicole more often than the others and they both seem like good friends, having a brother-sister relationship. Series 1 is the only line where all the dolls are grayscale, while the other lines have colorful themes/skin tones. Rexx McQueen is grayscale, but the other Series 2 dolls aren’t.

Ash, likely being short for Asher, is a Hebrew and Biblical boys' name that has recently been used as a unisex name.When Harley and Natasha first met, Harley seems a little agitated as Natasha didn’t seem to have many interests that she could use to write her song, but once Natasha starts creating and finishing her song " Look by Natasha" Harley seemed to love her music and even dances to it with Poppy and Daria. April 15th, 2022: Shanelle debuts in the episode " Welcome to Shadow High" having speaking lines, along with Natasha, Nicole, and Ash. In the Rainbow High special, Bella Parker claims he is "texting" her due to the previous comment the girls can only assume is meant to be romantic.
Shadow High is one of the 6 known schools to exist in the Rainbow High universe. The first is Rainbow High, the second is Pacific Coast High, which is a sister school/annex to Rainbow High, and the third is Shadow High, which is a neighboring school, the fourth is Seoul Select a school from Korea, Kingsley High, a school from Australia, and the final one is Bottom Barrel High. Luna is a feminine Spanish and Italian name that directly translates to "moon" in Spanish. It is heavily associated with the moon and the night overall. She appears to be sassy and a mean person, but at the same time, actually cares about her friends and loves designing high fashion and is always there to dress to impress. She is also shown to be helpful to others, as shown how she helps Meline by fixing a loose thread on her dress. She is, along with her band members, one of the few Shadow High students who doesn’t actively show hate to Rainbow High and it’s students, as seen showing gratitude to Coco and enjoying working with other Rainbow High music focuses.
At first, when Dia signs up as a team leader, Shanelle seems to be neutral about it. When Dia starts the team process, Shanelle looks upset with it, making frowns every time Dia speaks, and at the end when it's time to vote, Shanelle votes against Dia to remove her from the team.
