The fifth season was initially expected to be the show’s final installment and take the royals from the early ’90s into the 2000s, however showrunner Peter Morgan later changed his mind, deciding instead to split the events of the decade into two seasons.

Josephine Rossis a literary and royal historian, the acknowledged expert on Cecil Beaton's career with Vogueand an authority on the life and works of Jane Austen, the subject of her most recent book Jane Austen and her World(2017). With that in mind, Season 5 is likely to begin in the early ’90s and end somewhere in the middle of that decade. I found his original large-format colour transparencies of the Queen’s daughter, Princess Elizabeth, together with their original sleeves. We beam with pride at Prince Harry’s enterprise and his own excitement at the success of his Invictus Games; we celebrate the chicness of the Duchess of Cambridge, a real-life Cinderella who started life as “one of us” and was transformed into a princess before our eyes; and we marvel at the work ethic of the Queen.
