About this deal

Pre-Owned Status: Please note, due to some previous use this item has been given our 'Pre-Owned' status - meaning that we've checked it over and ensured it's in full working condition - complete with a 3 Month PMT Warranty to ensure you're satisfied with the condition. I'll be interested in hearing the opinions of some of our other Tone-Masters about how the sound stacks up, especially that Mesa/Boogie setting. The ME-70 takes primarily a 'virtual pedalboard' approach, due to its lack of easy bank switching in Memory mode. If the item is marked as Collection Only you can still reserve with a deposit using our reserve and collect facility at checkout or by contacting us.

I could back off my guitar volume for a slightly thicker clean sound than with the effect bypassed, or, full up, get a nice crunch rhythm. With the ME-70 you can dial up a world of tone, from classic to cutting-edge, with simplicity and speed. Just press and HOLD the Edit/Exit button and turn the knob in question and the value will be displayed. When I first got my Helix I could not get a decent sound out of it to save my life, and of course I was shouting to the world that "I paid the GNP of a small country for this thing that's supposed to be amazing, why does it sound like ****?In this setting, goosing the Level knob to full on added only a minimal amount of boost, unless I also increased the Drive knob—this does not add distortion, merely more level.

A subsection has settings that do a creditable job of making your single coils sound more like humbuckers and vice versa, and also contains an effect labeled Solo that is optimized for driving an amplifier preamp or a distortion pedal. All topped off with a good reverb and sensitive eq dials in the preamp section means you can whip up a good sound in seconds. Its a nice sounding drive with the gain a little below 12 Oclock and I think sounds a more Blusey tone than the 'Blues' option which I don't use much as its not for me. The one on the ME-50 is fantastic, and definitely doesn’t have that ‘digital trail’ thing which I’m very sensitive to as well - in fact, it’s one reason I chose the ME-50 over my analogue pedalboard. It shares the layout and appearance of it's predecessor, the ME-50, and it would be logical to assume this is an "ME-50 plus 20," but that's not what it is. It is incredibly versatile, with the ability to produce a number of well produced effects and even replace your amplifier if you were particularly desperate.
