About this deal

The HP OMEN 27i is a great choice if you want a vibrant screen with excellent responsiveness and design. The monitor offers superb gamut coverage, but it doesn’t have filters that can tighten it for color-critical work. Its low input lag and FreeSync/G-Sync duality extends its flexibility, especially at a time where new and more powerful cards are dropping. The dynamic contrast shows the ratio between the brightest and the darkest color, which the display can reproduce over time, for example, in the course of playing a video. Due to the DisplayPort 1.2 bandwidth limitations, you are limited to 8-bit color depth at 165Hz. For 10-bit color, you will need to reduce the refresh rate to 120Hz or resort to chroma subsampling. No changes were necessary in the Nvidia Control panel. FreeSync also worked right off the bat when we hooked the monitor up to our AMD-based gaming PC. The display covers 98 percent of the DCI-P3 colour space, making it ideal for professional creatives as well as gamers, and there's 10-bit colour depth. With those sorts of stats, HDR isn't as important as it might otherwise be, and we certainly didn't find that the absence of High Dynamic Range spoiled the viewing experience. It's a great screen for your video streaming, besides everything else If you are using a variable refresh rate (VRR), be it AMD FreeSync or NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible, and your frame rate is fluctuating a lot, the Level 1 setting provides more consistent performance across the entire refresh rate range since it still looks very good at 165Hz/FPS. On the Omen 27i, you get a pixel density of ~108 PPI (pixels per inch), which translates to plenty of screen real estate with sharp details and text – and no scaling necessary.

Colors for days

The HP OMEN 27i exceeds its brightness rating at 368 cd/m2, but its contrast is quite low at 822:1 at 60% brightness. It’s one of the lowest results we’ve seen from the newer IPS models, where some like the Asus VG27AQL1A has already breached 1000:1. The screen has that extra color-pop, but it can look grayish or washed out in dark scenes. Information of the number of pixels in a unit of length. With the decrease of the display size and the increase of its resolution, the pixel density increases.

Watching movies was also a pleasure on the Omen 27i. Some Blu-ray films might look a tad overblown, since the color gamut is too large. Most streamed material is also meant for the smaller Rec.709 color space. But this was a minor issue. Another advantage of IPS technology is the 178° wide viewing angles, which ensure that the image is consistent regardless of the angle you’re looking at the screen; there are no shifts in brightness, contrast, gamma, or color at skewed angles. Must support DisplayPort 1.2 directly from GPU. Requires GTX 650Ti Boost GPU or higher. NVIDIA R340 52 or higher. See NVIDIA.com for more details. Further, the response time speed is exceptional as well. There are four pixel response time overdrive settings, ranging from Level 1 to Level 4.The HP Omen 27i monitor is certified as G-SYNC Compatible by NVIDIA, so you can expect flawless VRR performance up to 165FPS. Dimensions, weight and color Information about the dimensions and the weight of the specific model with and without stand as well as the colors, in which it is offered to the market. Width I’m very happy I took the plunge. This monitor is brilliant. There are a few things that annoy me about it, and I’ll get into those a little later. Overall, though, it’s everything I could have asked for.

It offers a crisp image quality with striking colors thanks to its 1440p IPS panel, while the rapid response time, low input lag, 165Hz refresh rate, and smooth VRR performance ensure a responsive gaming experience.HP Inc UK Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA FRN 973346) and acts as a credit intermediary and not a lender, offering credit products provided by a limited number of finance providers. The HP Omen 27i input lag amounts to just ~3ms, which makes for imperceptible delay between your actions and the result you see on the screen. Design is always a subjective call, but we quite like the angular, curve-free look of the Omen 27i monitor, and we think that a lot of other people will as well. The device is simple to configure and easy to set up, and the majority of users are going to do just fine using the calibration settings that the display has out of the box. Quad HD is probably the favorite resolution among PC gamers. It looks much better than 1080p on 27″ and 32″ monitors yet it’s not nearly as demanding as 4K UHD.
