As far as we know, you can’t be logged on and streaming to two devices at the same time, so you probably shouldn’t hand out your Stadia account info willy-nilly. All three of the Stadia exclusives, Crayta, Gylt, and Orcs Must Die 3, feature fully remappable controls.

That's an excellent saving on the proprietary controller and a Chromecast Ultra (which is the only Chromecast model capable of running Google Stadia services right now). Both the signup and streaming service are activated through the Google Stadia app on Android and iOS. It’s about as heavy as the Xbox Elite Controller, which works out OK for me because at least it’s grippy with some textured rubber. I had a secondary Google account for app publishing, and I was able to switch to that and start another trial there. The quality of your internet connection is a huge consideration as to how well Stadia will work, and in more reasons than it matters for Netflix. Last but not least you need a connection to the internet, something we thought would be an early nail in the platform’s coffin considering how few of us have fibre connections. Whether you play games on PC or console, we've all been subjected to massive downloads that take minutes (or hours) to complete.I’m lucky in that I do have multiple Chromecast Ultras, and this is kind of a niche instance, but it shows how sometimes Google’s left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing. It's genuinely sad that some manager or team went to all the trouble of getting the budget for this hardware promotion, but couldn't or didn't reset the free trial for the Google accounts of the recipients. There was some really good stuff - like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Mortal Kombat 11 - plus some games that are probably less appealing to folks like Just Dance 2020.

I remained uninterested in Stadia partly because of the rough launch, and partly because I’m not sold on the business model. It works like any other Chromecast dongle, plugging in to a HDMI port on your television and allowing you to stream almost anything from your smartphone.In fact, once the spike happened we could usually go for another few minutes without another major spike occurring.
