About this deal

Like some of the greatest traditional fairy tales like Little Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretel, there is a genuine sense of threat in Maybe, real conflict and real drama which will resonate with children and adults alike. A must-have for every forward-thinking person who wants the next generation to inherit a world to be proud of. From Chris Haughton comes a funny, suspenseful and keenly observed cautionary tale about pushing boundaries and indulging your more mischievous, cheeky side (when nobody is looking). We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. I like how simple this story is and how the monkeys end up, hopefully, learning a valuable lesson, although the funny ending with a bit of a twist makes you wonder if they actually did!

As well as the famed images of The Giants Causeway and The Dark Hedges, she also has a number of local coastline and inland landscapes such as Slemish, Cushendun, Ballycastle and Ballintoy. The illustrations are all so engaging and simple and there’s even one special one whick I really love which requires you to turn the book on its side to view it properly! The title to be read and discussed is sign-posted and on sale for the whole of the previous month (with a discount for those who make it known they intend to come) and everybody is welcome, whether first-timer, part-timer or regular-timer.

A spectacular collection of four much-loved modern classics from the multi award-winning, internationally best-selling picture book creator, Oliver Jeffers, along with a captivating behind-the-scenes look at the making of each in four fascinating sketchbook sections. The story is so fun and simple but is filled with some great repetition which kids will enjoy and although the story isn’t too complex it still carries and teaches an important lesson about the importance of listening to warnings and also that danger can sometimes be lurking even when you think it is safe. Each card is blank for your own message, and contains a small paragraph on the reverse with Daniel's creative thinking behind the image. What’s more if there are lots of mangos and one is just a short distance away, it’d be a pity not to pick it, wouldn’t it? While little crab becomes more and more fearful in the face of danger the little monkeys are egging each other on all the way. I think the illustrations alone will make children want to look at this book again and again, and coupled with the simple story and great messge about safety, it makes a great book for children to enjoy and one I’d recommend! With heavy suspense, daring and our growing anticipation, we watch the three little monkeys abandon all sensible warnings about TIGERS! If you are under 16, please obtain your parent/guardian’s permission before submitting or ask your parent/guardian to submit on your behalf.

This involving, laugh-out-loud tale of monkeys who don’t do as they are told features funny faces, intense colour and a lesson about risk. I love Haughton’s use of colour in this book, the monkeys are a contrast to the bright reddish world of their jungle and I love how you can see the expression on their faces which are especially funny when they are wondering if maybe something will be okay.I think young children will be able to cope because they have seen the warning signs all along and so can tell themselves that they would not have taken those risks. I like how this important message is wrapped into the story and how this can lead to some discussion with children on this topic too. Windows users should also consider upgrading to Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft Edge, or switching to Firefox or Chrome. Bronnie is so lovely with the boys and we also felt that having a man enthusing about the books set a great example.
